Spring is a great time to reflect on the past year and contemplate plans for the new year. A great goal for the upcoming year would be to improve relationships and engagement between the PTA and the school. Working together for the success of all students will be more important than ever.
Think about applying to become a National PTA School of Excellence. This program is based on the National Standards for Family School Partnerships and is a great way for parents, teachers, and administration to work together.
For more information about the importance of a strong connection, check out this great article in the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) spring 2020 issue of their award-winning magazine, “Washington Principal.” It is about school/PTA partnerships. Kudos to Everett PTSA Council Past President Jen Hirman and Past President, Elementary School Principals Association of Washington, David Jones, for their insightful article focusing on strategies to build a productive relationship with your PTA.
