Membership is what powers our PTA; every member strengthens our voice, expands our impact, and helps us advocate for students, schools, and families. The more members we have, the more we can accomplish together!
To celebrate, we’re kicking off a March Membership Mania Challenge:
- Add 5 new members during the month of March, submit dues for them.
- Be automatically entered into a drawing to win a prize!
Every new member, parents, staff, students, or community supporters, adds strength to our advocacy efforts and helps us make a difference in our schools.
Need ideas to grow your membership? Try these strategies:
- Host a Meet & Greet: Invite new families, staff, and community members for a casual coffee, lunch, or popsicle social to introduce them to PTA.
- Run a Themed Membership Campaign: Pick a fun theme for the month like “March Into Membership” or “Lucky to Be in PTA,” and decorate your school or social media posts to match.
- Leverage Social Media: Share your PTA’s join link on Facebook, Instagram, and your school newsletter. Strive for seven forms of communication! Highlight the benefits of membership and success stories of what your PTA has accomplished.
- Engage Staff and Students: Encourage teachers and student leaders to invite families or peers to join. Staff buy-in can influence families, and students love being part of fun, school-wide initiatives.
- Offer Incentives: Small rewards like drawings, stickers, or recognition at school events can encourage families to join.
- Feature Success Stories: Share concrete examples of how PTA advocacy has improved your school, show people the impact of being a member. What resources has your PTA supplied the building with? How has your PTA helped build community?
