Dear Washington State PTA member,
WSPTA recognizes the essential need for children to be safe at home and at school. WSPTA members adopted several positions that promote student safety, including policies that prevent gun violence (including youth suicides) and policies that promote school safety planning. As children and youth spend a large part of their time in school, it is critical that every school is prepared to serve all students in the event of crisis or disaster (natural or man-made.)
We are asking you to contact your legislators with the following message here to support legislation to address these issues, which we encourage you to customize to add your personal story. Thank you for advocating for the 1.1 million students of Washington to have the best opportunity to reach their highest potential.
