Voting and Elections
Washington State PTA has two meetings each year where we handle the business of the association. These meetings occur during our Legislative Assembly in October and our WSPTA Annual Meeting in the spring. Delegates from each local PTA and council are invited to attend to vote on behalf of their members.
Sending Delegates
Local PTAs with up to two hundred members may send four voting delegates, with one additional delegate for each additional one hundred members. For Legislative Assembly, the number of members is determined by the number of paid members at the end of the previous fiscal year. For the WSPTA Annual Meeting, the number of members is determined by the number of paid members at the end of January of the current year.
Each council is entitled to four voting delegates.
Local PTAs and councils must be in good standing to send delegates.
Quorum
A quorum must be reached for transacting business at WSPTA meetings.
The quorum required for Legislative Assembly is one hundred voting delegates with at least a majority of the regions represented.
The quorum required for the WSPTA Annual Meeting is one hundred and fifty voting delegates with at least a majority of the regions represented.
