Natalie has committed to Barnard College of Columbia University

Natalie’s volunteer activities have included support, advocacy, and research assistant for youth with diabetes, and leadership in Women of Influence Club. In her essay, Natalie wrote, “Looking ahead, my experiences in service will shape my future as a pediatric endocrinologist. The skills I have gained—mentoring, advocating, and fostering community—will help me provide compassionate care to children navigating the same journey I did. Volunteering has shown me that medicine is not just about treating conditions. It is about supporting the whole person.”

In her essay, Yujin wrote, “Experiencing new settings and events has been rewarding, allowing me to meet new people and build relationships through volunteering at hospitals, labs, and children’s education centers. These experiences have highlighted my values and helped me discover my love for helping others. …Looking ahead, I want to give back to the community for all it has given me, driven by my passion for becoming a nurse—…I work toward my dream career as a holistic, compassionate nurse.”

Trinity Lee, Interlake High School PTSA 2.3.150

Trinity’s tentative plan is to attend University of Washington.

Trinity’s volunteer activities have included serving the needs of the homeless through Seattle Union Gospel Mission; International Buddies swim instructor; junior volunteer/scholar at Swedish Hospital; co-founder of Interlake Melodies, providing musical opportunities for Sherwood Elementary students; founded and led Interlake Red Cross Club. In her essay, Trinity wrote, “..Service, I realized, has two sides: the direct impact on the individual and the unseen ripples that touch those around them. The comfort Hannah found in the water lightened the weight on her parents’ shoulders. The confidence she gained gave them hope. This experience has permanently changed how I approach service and leadership. It has shown me that no action exists in isolation—whether I’m teaching, leading, or simply offering support, my efforts have broader effects. … I will approach every service opportunity with the understanding that even the smallest actions can create far-reaching ripples. As I continue my education and into the future, I will carry this mindset with me, keeping in mind that my work—no matter where it takes me—goes beyond just immediate results. Because of Hannah, I now understand that true service isn’t just about helping one person: it’s about the waves that extend far beyond what we can see.”

Kevin’s volunteer activities have included leadership in the ASB and Asian Student Association; co-founder/leader of Film Makers Club; biochemistry researcher with summer science program; mental health youth advocate with Seattle Department of Education & Early Learning. In their essay, Kevin wrote, “These experiences have taught me the importance of advocacy—speaking up for the underserved and underrepresented—and the power of initiative—taking action even when resources are scarce. …As I look to the future, these lessons guide my aspirations as a bioengineer. I aspire to use my technical skills to address systemic inequities in education, healthcare, and beyond. I hope to design affordable medical devices that improve access to care in underfunded communities or develop educational technologies that bridge the resource

gap in schools like mine. My goal is to ensure that every student feels empowered to reach for the stars, regardless of the wealth of their school district.”
