Awards of Excellence
The Local PTA and Council Awards of Excellence Program recognizes local PTAs, community PTAs, and councils whose level of effort in specific areas help them make a difference in their community. To participate in the Local PTA and Council Awards of Excellence Program, the PTA or council must meet the following standards:
- Be in compliance with the requirements of the Standards of Affiliation (SOA). If the PTA or council was chosen for periodic review, all requirements must be in order.
- The PTA must be up to date on membership dues payments to WSPTA.
- The PTA must have at least 25 paid members (or an approved waiver) by October 31.
- The PTA or council must have a president identified in the WSPTA membership database.
The submission deadline for 2025-2026 is March 12.

Advocacy Award of Excellence
The purpose of this award is to promote advocacy at local PTAs, community PTAs, and councils by recognizing programs, projects, and activities/events that increase awareness of and participation in advocacy issues at the school, local community, council, region, state, and national levels. The purpose of the Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach Award of Excellence is to recognize the accomplishments of local PTAs and councils across the state that promote Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach at local PTAs, community PTAs, and councils by recognizing programs, projects, and activities/events that increase awareness of and participation that directly impact issues at the school, local community, council, and region levels.

Outstanding New PTA Award Year 1 and 2
The Outstanding New PTA Award is exclusively for new PTAs that have been established within the first two years. It aims to assist your PTA in fulfilling a list of legal requirements and best practice items that serve as essential health checks. These checks ensure that local PTAs align with WSPTA ethics, policies, and principles, thereby maintaining sound business practices. Additionally, we encourage you to showcase your new PTA logo and highlight other exciting achievements your PTA has accomplished during its initial years.

Standards of Excellence
The Standards of Excellence Award is a tool to encourage the use of the best practices of PTA management. If your local PTA or council has not participated in awards, the Standards of Excellence is a great place to start. Participating in the Standards of Excellence could be used as a reporting tool for your members.

Standards of Affiliation Recognition Award
The Standards of Affiliation Recognition Award is designed to recognize effective and well-managed PTAs and councils. All PTAs and councils that are found to be in observance of the WSPTA Standards of Affiliation will receive an electronic award badge they can use in all their publications.

Standards of Affiliation Recognition Award of Excellence Award
Outstanding PTA of the Year
The WSPTA Programs Committee will select the Outstanding PTA of the Year from among the recipients of the Standards of Excellence award.
WSPTA will select one elementary PTA and one secondary PTA (or council) to receive the Outstanding PTA of the Year Award. Each selected PTA will be awarded a $1,000 grant.
For a PTA to be considered for the Outstanding PTA of the Year award, it must first apply for the Standards of Excellence (SOE) award and achieve the gold or platinum level. All PTAs that apply for the Standards of Excellence award and attain gold or platinum status are then reviewed by a committee of leaders, who select the PTA most deserving of this prestigious recognition.
