Awards of Excellence – The Washington State PTA (WSPTA) has an award and recognition program whose purpose is to build pride, participation in, and awareness of WSPTA as well as celebrate the work PTAs do to make a difference in their communities. These awards give recognition for outstanding efforts and motivate local PTAs and councils to provide quality service for and involvement of their members.

Applying for these awards helps local PTAs and councils benchmark their efforts and become resources for other local PTAs and councils. Awards and programs also help build awareness of the WSPTA mission and focus. When local PTAs and councils are recognized for the work they are doing, it builds pride in the community and helps people connect with the PTA.

Membership – Outstanding membership recruiting efforts are recognized at a variety of levels. Time has shown that local PTAs that work toward membership growth are consistently more successful than those that do not set membership growth goals.

State Individual Awards – Each year, Washington State PTA (WSPTA) may honor individuals or groups for their state-level service and/or advocacy on behalf of children by presenting them with a WSPTA award. Recipients of these awards further the vision and mission of WSPTA through their service and/or advocacy at the state level. WSPTA awards may or may not be presented annually.

Volunteer Recognition Awards – PTA is a volunteer-driven organization. To provide all of the amazing programs and events a local PTA or council may provide for their community it requires many dedicated volunteers. To encourage and recognize the outstanding work of volunteers, Washington State PTA (WSPTA) provides multiple individual recognition awards that local PTAs or councils may choose to award to deserving volunteers. Proceeds from the purchase of these awards go towards funding the WSPTA scholarship program for students.
