Region Director Message
Thank you for all you do on behalf of Children!
Welcome to a new year of PTA and advocating for children. I am reminded that we are more than a group that bakes cookies. We are a child’s advocacy group that is 140,000 voices strong, “this isn’t my Mother’s PTA.” We have come far in the last 100+ years and with your determination as the leaders of our local units, we will go even farther.
I joined PTA when my first child entered kindergarten simply because it was “the thing to do”. I had no idea the impact it would have on the lives of my family. I am a full time working wife and mother. My husband Jeff and I have two children, Michael will be a Sophomore at Wilson High School and Danielle will be a 7th grader at Truman Middle School. In addition to PTA, Jeff, the kids and I are very involved in our Church, Boy Scouts, DeMolay, Job’s Daughters, Rainbow Girls and other Masonic Family Organizations.
I am excited to serve as your Region 10 Director. My goal as region 10 Director is to ensure that all PTA/PTSA leaders in region 10 are trained and mentored. To give each unit the support and leadership they need so as a region we can be advocates for all kids and all families. We need to give parents and our community the opportunity to invest in children and youth. They can do this by joining PTA. I would like to invite all of you to our Fall Leadership Training August 12th at Truman Middle School. Check out a new exciting option for child care during the conference. I look forward to meeting each of you!
I am grateful to each of you the wonderful, energetic and supportive volunteers associated with this extraordinary organization. Please know that I am available to help you in any way necessary with your PTA. I look forward to a very productive year
Sincerely
Lorrie Brunson
