Region Director Message
It’s amazing how fast these first 6 months of being Region Director have gone by.

My Service Delivery Team and I have met a few times to discuss the training’s that have happened in our Region as well as the training is that will be happening.

Our first 2 big training’s, Fall Conference and PTA & the Law were fantastic; we had the biggest turn out in Region 1 History. So thank you so much to all those who attended to make this happen.

As the New Year approaches we have plans already for more opportunities for training’s with another PTA & the Law in February as well as us being available to you for onsight training’s within your school or your Council.

Your Service Delivery Team and I are here for you not only for the training opportunities but we are here for you always just if you need to talk and have a shoulder to lean onto.

Thank you all for being such wonderful PTA Leaders and supporting our kids. Always remember that we are apart of a wonderful organization and we are here for one reason and one reason only 'OUR KIDS’. ‘KIDS MATTER’
Council Updates
South Kitsap Council has many great plans for this school year! We will be having a McTakeover on December 7 at the Sedgwick McDonald's. We have plans to host an internet safety/cyber bullying workshop, we will be hosting the Wizards again in the Spring as our big fundraiser and we will be offering our first scholarship. We are still new to being a Council, so there is a lot to learn! We are so excited to bring some of these great programs to South Kitsap.

The Central Kitsap PTSA Council has been hard at work already this year. Our Reflections program is in full swing and we're in the early planning stages of our Daddy Daughter Dance and our annual Founder's Day Banquet as well. This year we've started a new Community Outreach program, which I am extremely proud of. We have already helped the RW Martin Youth Outreach which focuses on homeless youth in Kitsap County and this month we will be helping the Silverdale Lutheran Church Hearty Meals program, which feeds the homeless every Wednesday. It is our honor to be able to connect with our community this year and with our administrative staff as well. In mid-October we hosted a 'Meet & Greet' with our superintendent and employees of the CK admin. offices to build a better working relationship and discuss ways we can work together to assist our community in the best ways possible. I'm very proud of our CK PTAs and their commitment to PTA. They have shown up to the regional trainings and to the monthly council meetings in great numbers. I can tell it's going to be an exciting and productive PTA year here in Central Kitsap!

So far for Bremerton Council we have had 2 meetings. We have gone over Reflections, Legislative info, membership and Founders Day. Our schools have been busy with fundraisers, book fairs and upcoming holiday craft fairs.

North Kitsap PTA Council has been busy rebuilding and reorganizing! Coming very close to dissolving, several of us were able to pull together and start anew. Our goal is to get back to the basics of training and supporting our local units. Council has been reaching out to all of our LUs by email, phone and/or attending PTA meetings. We do our best to keep our units informed about upcoming events, deadlines and changes in PTA. It is the mission of our Council to help our LUs successfully meet the needs of their membership. With these key elements in mind, we hope to form a strong relationship between all school communities and our district.

Monica Black
North Kitsap Council 1.7 President
