DESCRIPTION:Each year your PTA should file either Form 990\, Form 990-EZ\, or Form 990-N\, dependent upon your financial circumstances for the tax year (fiscal year) ending June 30. Every PTA must file something with the IRS. \n\nIf your PTA’s average gross receipts are under $50\,000\, complete IRS Form 990-N (e-postcard).\nIf your PTA’s gross receipts are over $50\,000 but under $200\,000\, complete IRS Form 990-EZ.\nIf your PTA’s gross receipts are over $200\,000\, complete IRS Form 990.\n\nThe IRS will suspend the status of organizations that have failed to file a 990-series return for three consecutive years; these PTAs will automatically lose their tax-exempt status. DESCRIPTION:The Local PTA and Council Awards of Excellence Awards Program recognizes local PTAs\, community PTAs\, and councils whose level of effort in specific areas help them make a difference in their community. To participate in the Local PTA and Council Awards of Excellence Program\, the PTA or council must meet the following standards: \n\nThe Standards of Affiliation (SOA) contract was completed\, signed\, and submitted by the October 31st deadline. DESCRIPTION:100% Membership\nTo be awarded the 100% Membership Award\, local PTAs must have one paid membership entered in the membership database for every child enrolled in the school associated with that local PTA. PTAs must complete an application form by March 1 to be eligible for this award. Recipients of the 100% Membership Award will be honored at the WSPTA convention. \n100% Staff\nThe 100% Staff Membership Award is presented to local PTAs who enroll at least as many school staff members as there are full-time certified employees at the school. This award recognizes the value of teachers as stakeholders\, as well as all dedicated staff members at the school\, in advocating for all children through PTA membership. \nPTAs must complete the applicable application form by March 1. The purpose of this program is to recognize and acknowledge leadership skills attained by PTA leaders throughout all levels of the association. DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year for high school seniors: applying for college and learning how to pay for college. \nTo help alleviate the pains of paying for college\, Washington State PTA offers three $3\,000 scholarships and one $1\,000 scholarship to graduating seniors from Washington state high schools\, with active PTAs within them\, who will be starting college (either 2-year or 4-year) in the fall of 2018. \nLearn more here about details on requirements and to access the application form.
