Region Director Message
It is hard to believe that it is now the beginning of July, it seems as though June 1st was just last week and before you know it, the first day of school will be fast approaching and summer over. By now, many of you are meeting with your board making plans for the upcoming school year. While making your plans, please be sure to remember that Fall Conference will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2011. This is an all-day event that will include training classes and PTA and the Law, look for more information in the newsletter coming out soon. If there is something specific that you would like to see at the conference please feel free to contact me and send your suggestions, this training is for you – so please don’t be shy!
Also, Leadership Conference is coming up August 19th – 20th in Yakima, WA. This is a great opportunity to take part in advanced training for PTA Leaders. I attended my first Leadership Conference last year, and what I took away from it has been invaluable. Additional information and the registration form are available on the website.
I am very excited to announce the Region 15 Facebook page. Please be sure to “Like” the page to keep up with what is going on in the Region. It is my hope that the Facebook page will help all of our units stay connected throughout the year in between trainings. So many of you are doing amazing things, please use the Facebook page to network and share those things with other units. Too often units try to reinvent the wheel, when they really don’t have to – use each other to bounce ideas off of, share your success and also failures so we can all learn from each other!
I am really excited for this year and am still working on completing the Service Delivery Team. If you are interested in being a part of the team, please contact me via e-mail at ptareg15@wastatepta.org or by phone at 509-435-6249. I look forward to meeting you at Fall Conference!
Happy summer,
Angela
