Message
I would like to welcome you to the
Region 4 web presence. Please sit
back, take off your shoes, pour yourself a beverage and please enjoy.
Let me share a little about our region.
Region 4 is one of the larger regions of regions in the state, and is
the largest region on the west side of the state.
The counties in our region are Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason (except the
North Mason School District), Pacific and Thurston Counties.
When
driving down I-5 from Seattle you will first hit Olympia then Lacey, Olympia
(The State Capital), Tumwater, Chehalis all the way down to Onalaska and
Winlock. Then if you take Highway
101 and follow it out to the coast you will find Shelton.
Out on the coast we have Raymond.
We are lucky to have a very diverse area.
As
the Region director I have the opportunity to go out to local units and help
with training, questions, and to offer support and encouragement. I
enjoy meeting the different PTA members in our area.
It is great to share our love of children and wanting to make a
difference in their lives.
We
do have open positions on our region team and would love to hear from those in
our Region that might like to join our service delivery team.
We are looking for a Legislative Chair, Membership Chair, and
Newsletter Editor as well and Event Planner.
I
send out E-Blast newsletters to those in my region.
If you would like to receive this letter please feel free to email me
and I will put you on my list. I will not share the email list with anyone
outside of the state PTA office.
I
also plan to have meetings every other month at a local coffee shop so that
the members of the region have a chance to come out and meet the Service
Delivery Team. If you would like
to attend one of these meetings please send me an email and I will get you the
next date and location.
I
would love to talk with you more about PTA
and Region 4.
Beverly Young Reed, Region 4 Director
