2008 Officer Elections
State-wide elections will take place at the 95th Annual State PTA Convention, May 2nd through May 4, 2008 in SeaTac, Washington.  Elections will be held for the positions of Finance Officer, Secretary, Leadership Director, Program Director and two (2) Nominating Committee At-Large members.

*The WSPTA Nominating Committee does not nominate candidates for the At-Large Nominating Committee.  These candidates are either recommended by other members or self nominated.  Before a candidate's name is announced for consideration, all are verified to be members in good standing.

Self-Declared Candidates
A qualified PTA member, as established in the Uniform Bylaws, can self-declare his or her candidacy for WSPTA elected positions, by sending a Declaration of Good Faith to the Washington State PTA office by March 15, 2008.

Candidate Eligibility
All candidates must be a member of a local PTA/PTSA unit.  To be eligible for election as Finance officer, Secretary or Leadership Director, the candidate shall have served at least one (1) year on the WSPTA Board of Directors; for the office of Program Director, the candidate shall have served at least one (1) year on the WSPTA Board of Directors or as a local unit or council officer for two (2) years. (From WSPTA Uniform Bylaws, Article 8, Section 4)
