Short-term Platform
Our Top 5 and other priorities for the 2013 and 2014 state legislative sessions. Please click on links to full positions and supporting policy papers.
Every two years, Washington State PTA votes in a Top 5 and designates other issues that it considers timely. The association has numerous positions that support the well-being and education of all children and this process helps us focus our advocacy.
In the off years, adjustments can be made to the two-year platform, but the Top 5 stay in place. A new platform will be voted on in October 2014.
Long-term vision, short-term priorities
WSPTA’s advocacy positions include the short-term legislative platform, above, as well as:
Our Legislative Principles, which in turn support PTA's mission to advocate for the well-being and education of all children
Our Resolutions are resources that can be cited by members, the board of directors, committees and staff to represent the PTA positions. They guide legislative advocacy and general advocacy in our local communities
