I joined PTA when my daughter joined kindergarten 12 years ago. I think I joined just because they didn’t ask me to. But, if I truly said why I joined it was because I wanted to be involved in my children’s education experience, and to help how I could. I had no idea of the many friends that I would make, the experiences I would have and the skills I would develop over the years.
I have chaired just about every committee along the way, both at a local level and council. The offices I have held are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer (many times). The opportunity to be on the Region 9 Service Delivery Team with four different Region Directors was greatly appreciated. I was able to learn wonderful skills from each of them. I have been able to be the WSPTA Reflections Chair and Program Director.
It is an honor to be representing Region 9 (Auburn, Federal Way, Highline, Kent, Renton, Tukwila and Tahoma School Districts) as the Director for the next two years.
