Esperanza Badillo-Di Iorio WSPTA Region 4 Director
I am honored to be in the place of our former Region Director and will do the job to my best ability.
It is my goal to service our Region and know that the Service Delivery Team and I will provide any assistance to all of our units and of course help them achieve the goals that they have set for their own units.
I have been part of the association for the last 10 years. I have been a member, served as volunteer coordinator for the PTA which kept me in contact with the Horizons families. I have also served two years as President of my local unit and am currently the Vice President, membership chair and share the legislative chair. I have also served on the Region 4 Service Delivery Team for the past two years as the Outreach Chair and a trainer with the Common Core State Standards Initiative.
My PTA experience has led me to make a conscious effort to attend Region 4 conferences, Leadership Conferences, PTA and the Law, Legislative Assembly, State Convention and being attended the training for Common Core State Standards Initiative. I was one of two selected to attend National PTA’s Emerging Minorities Leadership Conference last year.
The mission of the association as well as mine to be a powerful voice for all children, to be a relevant resource for families and communities, and to be a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child. Our association should reflect all children that we represent. We should embrace our diversity as well as understand that this is what makes us truly unique. I do not pretend to know everything nor do I have all the answers, however I am diligent and a hard worker. I believe in team effort and you get what you put into life and all that matters.
I have been married to my husband Wayne Di Iorio for eleven years, and a mother of five, and yes this is a huge job, and I love it! We have lived here in Olympia for 12 years together. My husband has worked for Western Peterbilt in Fife for the last thirteen years. I have three daughters and two sons. Three of my children attend school in the North Thurston Public School District. My youngest daughter attends preschool and my one year old son stays at home with me. I love reading, singing, and playing with my children! Learning new things and meeting new people has always been at the core of who I am.
