Heather Gillette
WSPTA Region 2 Director
I was lucky to grow up in a household where my mom volunteered for PTA, was a Girl Scout leader and even tried to coach my soccer team one year to help out. Some of my earliest memories are following her through the halls of the elementary school my brother attended on Mondays to collect the milk money and the pervasive smell of the hand cranked mimeograph machine. It was never a question that I would follow in her footsteps and give my kids the same sort of memories that I cherished.

My kids are now 17 and 20 and my first PTA work began when the first one started kindergarten. I have been fortunate to have such a supportive family that I have been able to let PTA be my career. Over the course of 15 years I have served on a vast array of committees and held many different leadership roles.

I also, over the years, have spent time playing soccer, coaching soccer, being a team manager and watching an awful lot of soccer. My oldest has always been musically inclined, a singer, and now that he has graduated I truly miss all the recitals and stage performances we attended over the years. Time truly does fly.
